In January 2008, Odyssey Dance Theatre (“ODT”) achieved resounding success in Wild Moves 3- ‘Black &/or White’. The new full-length work was by 3 Singaporean choreographers, with music arrangement and script written by Prof. Ho Wen Hsing (Taiwan) and performed by 10 Singaporeans.
With a strong belief in providing opportunities for our new generation of dancers and choreographers, a new dance series – ‘Odyssey Studio Series 1’ is being developed. In this new platform, ODT will support new creations by 3 emerging Singaporean choreographers – Lo Pui Sze, Linnea Ong and Yeo Lay Teng.
ODT will also continue to connect with the public through an upcoming community programme at the invitation of the Singapore General Hospital. Do join us on 6th June 2008, where dance will be a “healing tool” to the patients during the ArtsFest@SGH.
ODT, as one of the dance education pioneers, has delivered many successful educational initiatives through the years and most recently, Bedok View Secondary School’s first dance production – BV Moves. Do visit our Arts4youths website to a find suitable program that suits your dance quest.
At the international front, ODT has received invitations to present ‘Providence’ at the Core Border Season (Brisbane, Australia) and Juksan International Art Festival (South Korea) in May and June respectively. Mr. Danny Tan has also been invited by MODAFE (Modern Dance Festival, Seoul) to participate in a two-week residency programme as performer and choreographer.
Stay tuned to our latest developments and experience different dance expressions. Our contemporary dance can touch you.
